The Pearl Izumi men's ELITE Tri Short is fast yet breathable and will perform equally in the swim, run and bike legs of the race. Made with ELITE UltraSensor Transfer fabric to provide compression along with cool, dry comfort. The ELITE Transfer Direct-Vent integrated mesh panels for fast drying, optimum temperature regulation. Constructed with flat lock seams for chafe free comfort and elasticized gripper with drawstring hem for a performance, fit and comfort. The 2 newly designed side pockets securely stash nutrition away and don't drag on the swim. An integrated fleece tri chamois that wicks away moisture and dries quickly. Inseam 7-1/2" for good coverage and muscle compression. Fabric content: Main: 86% Nylon/ 14% Spandex, Mesh: 75% Polyester/25% Spandex. Not recommended for use in chlorinated pools. Size Chart (Waist Measurement): SM 29-31, MD 32-34, LG 35-37, XL 38-41, XXL 42-45.

I like the shorter leg on these versus the longer 9" leg on regular cycling shorts during the run portion of races. The padding is just the right amount, not too much, not too little. About as good in the water as my Speedo Endurance jammers and plenty comfortable for the bike ride and run. There is just enough padding to help on the bike (but not long distances like 40+ miles) but unnoticeable when walking around during the post race party. The pockets on the back of your hip was perfect for keeping a pack of Gu. The only downside I would say is that they didn't seem to dry out fast enough, not that they retained a lot of water...I was just hoping they would dry out from the swim portion by the time I was done with the race (1 hour later).
